CNN Style and Style Blogger Olivia Rodrigo spoke with Joe Biden’s granddaughter about her visit to the White House, in a video interview recorded in her hometown of Florence, Italy, where she is interning.
Olivia broke the first rule of interviewing as soon as she started the conversation: She asked what Vice President Biden would be eating during the meeting, and Jilly answered “mac and cheese.” That will be that.

Laughter from the audience followed.
It is a dream of every creative person to meet or work with the Vice President of the United States, and after getting her hands on the top spot on CNN Style’s internship list for Italy, Olivia Rodrigo is exactly that.
The 18-year-old attended Biden’s inauguration, in 2017, and was seen in some viral snaps with his family, including Joe and his 18-year-old granddaughter, Olivia.
A special gift in store for Olivia … a yellow shoehorn and some M&Ms.
Lately, the 2016 Warby Parker intern has been fitting together bright yellow sneakers with Jilly’s favorite M&Ms, while stopping at Dior for some gilded makeup.
While the experience with Joe and Jill Biden was beyond unbelievable, it was an especially surreal experience for Olivia when she met the vice president himself. As she recalled, “He gave me a shoehorn. I don’t even know why he would do that to me … and then he gave me some M&Ms.”
Well, that’s party in the bag! She also bought three T-shirts from President Donald Trump’s signature ‘Make America Great Again’ hat. Olivia Rodrigo/CNN
