Corrupt into watching sports? Here are some rules for safe and courteous behaviour while watching sports.
Any time the crowd is involved in ugly behaviour, which can damage the competition, the team, or the sport, get them to calm down or get them to leave the premises.
Be seated and listen to the commentators. They want to get you up to watch the game, so give them a chance.
If the crowd are rude, argue with them, but do not abuse them, even to an adult as they leave.
Do not engage in partisan or unusual religious expressions.
Do not jump up to get behind the home team, and do not keep quiet when the opposition is doing well. Be constructive – and encouraging.
Never accept money or go on any other sort of commercial takings or receive any other kind of benefit from the match or event. They are organised to help with the cost of taking you to the event and do not purport to gratify your athletic prowess.
No drinking, no texting, no arguing, no loud conversations at the stadium or on the bus or on the way home – they are there to watch the match.
