1934 Sager Chemical Axe; Michigan Pattern Restoration w/ Labels
This auction is for a vintage, 1934 Sager Chemical Axe; Michigan pattern with authentic, reproduction factory labels. This beautiful, restored axe is brought for your consideration by Stunner Blades Customs, San Francisco, California.
This authentic Sager double bit was thoroughly cleaned, hand polished, salt blued and sharpened.
A custom, clean American Hickory haft was made to perfectly fit this axe head to the shoulders. A black Walnut wedge, coated with boiled linseed oil and Titebond Ultimate, was used to make a rock solid, head to haft fit.
The haft was hand sanded smooth and cured with boiled linseed oil. The haft was then coated with genuine Odie’s Oil.
Total length from top of eye to bottom of haft is 34 6/8”. The double bit from mid blade to blade is 9 3/4” with 4 1/2” blades. Total weight is approximately 5 lbs 1.7 oz.
This is an extremely clean vintage Sager that would be at home in a collection on display or for use.
