All Original PLUMB USA Permabond Hatchet w/ PLUMB Leather; Completely Restored
This auction is for an all original, restored PLUMB USA hatchet with original PLUMB leather sheath.
This hatchet is in absolute fantastic restored condition. It is the same hatchet head, hickory haft and Permabond red top from the factory. The original PLUMB sheath will also be included in this auction.
The hatchet head was hand sanded and given a coat of hard satin black enamel. The blade, as shown in photos, was hand polished to a mirror shine. The ‘PLUMB USA’ embossing is deep and crisp. The original red ‘Permabond’ top was sanded smooth and restored to it’s original deep luster.
The haft was hand sanded smooth and lightly flamed to bring out the beautiful grain. A fresh coat of color matched ‘PLUMB’ red stain was applied and cured. The entire haft was hand rubbed with genuine Odie’s Oil and polished.
The original PLUMB leather sheath was cleaned with saddle soap. The leather was brought back to life and given coats of SNO-SEAL and Odie’s Oil to return it’s natural, supple feel. Through all the years, it still has that natural leather scent.
This package of hatchet and sheath is perfect for a collection, use or an outdoorsman’s gift.
