A GENUINE AMISH MADE HICKORY BROAD AXE HANDLE, Style BAH, by mjdtoolparts. This handle is configured to be hung as either right-handed or left-handed and the handle end is bilaterally symetrical for this reason. The handle end measures 2 3/4 inches in length in a football-shaped form and it is 7/8 of an inch thick in the center. The handle has a slight offset to protect the knuckles when in use. At 24 inches in length it is consistent with classic pattern broad axe patterns, rather than the extra long offset handles available at greater cost than this handle. Fitting of your axe to your handle will require the use of a drawknife, spokeshave or chisel and/or some sandpaper to achieve an ideal fit.
