A GENUINE AMISH MADE HICKORY BROAD HATCHET HANDLE, Style HHA, by mjdtoolparts. This handle is configured to be hung as right-handed and the end of the handle is teardrop shaped. The handle end measures 1 1/2 inches in height in a teardrop-shaped form and it is 5/8 of an inch thick in the top and center, tapering to a more narrow width on the bottom. The handle has a slight offset to protect the knuckles when in use. At 14 3/8 inches in length it is consistent with classic pattern broad hatchet patterns, rather than the straight handle types available at greater cost than this handle. Fitting of your hatchet head to your handle will require the use of a drawknife, spokeshave or chisel and/or some sandpaper to achieve an ideal fit.
