Beautiful 1940s COLLECTION OF ANTIQUE VTG Button Society Club, Estate Find.1940s Ohio Estate collection
From what I understand, the woman belonged to the National Button Society. During WWII, she developed pen pal relationships with other people to trade buttons to be used during the rationing times of the war.
Buttons are sewn to pieces of card stock. They’re catalogued in her amazing old-timey handwriting to indicate from whom the buttons came, with they’re home cities and the dates.
The trading allowed her to both build her own collection and have other unique buttons to use for her own needs.
Very cool collection includes 19th and early 20th Century specimens. Vintage and antique original pieces, sold as shown.
