Description
c1920s-30s AMERICAN STERLING SILVER TRUMPET VASE by WATSONPresented is a beautiful American sterling silver vase by Watson Company of Attleborough, Massachusetts. This piece dates to around the 1920s-1930s. The vase has a lovely trumpet flower form, with a wavy edge around the top. The body of the vase is nicely engraved with swags of flowers and leaves, with two wreath cartouches. One of the cartouches is blank, while the other has a handsome monogram of 'C' in Gothic script. The base of the piece is weighted for stability. The interior is clean as can be, and the outside is polished to a bright shine.
The vase is in excellent condition. There are no dents, no splits, no leaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is hallmarked on the underside with the maker's mark for Watson as well as sterling silver, with a retail mark for J.E. Caldwell.
The vase stands approximately 7 3/4 inches tall.
The vase weighs 345 grams, or 12.1 regular ounces. There is some weighting in the base, but the majority of this weight is in the sterling silver.
