    Description

    Date 1971, original, size 29 ½ x 20 ¼ inches, lithographic color printing, edition of the Central Academy Institute of Art. The original painting by Ni Changming (1923-1983) and Zhang Leping (1910-1992), unsigned.
    This poster titled the Theory of Killing. The poster showed a man holds a book, on which written in the Chinese of a Confucius proverb Kindness and Faith (Ren-Yi), described it as the Theories of Confucius (551 BC – 479 BC) and Mengzi (372 BC – 289 BC).
    This poster based on the Criticize Lin and Confucius Campaign, which was an important political movement during the middle term of Chinese Cultural Revolution. The movement sourced of the Lin Biao Incident (911) in Sep 11, 1971. Lin Biao was the secondary important figure of the Cultural Revolution in the early times, and died by 911 as a defector.
    The poster is significant that exposed it the inner political struggle and confliction of the Chinese Communist Party in the Chinese Cultural Revolution period.
