Description
Please remember that as a seller, my sales costs also include packaging tape, printer ink, printer paper, shipping supplies, sales tracking and auction listing tools, not to mention the 10-14% that eBay and Paypal take off the top for fees and commissions. All of these costs are included in what you are paying. Our images are made using a scanner at very high resolution, exposing many minor flaws that are NOT visible to the human eye. On rare occasions, especially with pins that have gold and silver which may not scan well, I will use actual photographs.

Description: Let's start off with saying that PinPics has this listed incorrectly, as Cast Member of The Year. "De la saison" translates in to English as "of the season". That said, it would likely make this a quarterly award pin.
There is no firm information as to how long it was awarded, however it seems to date from the park's inception in 1992 to at least late 1994 when the park name changed from EuroDisney to Disneyland Paris. If this is accurate that would make the pin extraordinarily rare with only 6 or 7 awarded before it was shelved, though I am sure more would have been produced. Even so, it is one of the most difficult Disneyland Paris Cast Member pins to acquire. I last had one about 17 to 18 years ago and have not seen one since.
It is reported that, like the current Legacy award pin, this was worn on the Cast member's name tag. The pin measures 2cm by 3cm.
The pin itself wasn't one of the 99.99% of the pins that Disney has had produced in China. It was made by renowned French medal and decoration maker Arthus-Bertrand. His name is imprinted on the back of the pin.
Arthus-Bertrand is a maker of medals and decorations. It was founded in Paris in 1803 by Claude Arthus-Bertrand, an army officer during the French Revolution. Artists who have designed for the firm include Frederic Auguste Bartholdi (sculptor of the Statue of Liberty) and Fernand L. The company employs nearly 300 people.
Arthus-Bertrand has had many distinguished clients to include the French government. It is the official manufacturer of the French Legion of Honor and has made insignia for the Society of the Cincinnati and the Order of Lafayette.
So not only is it very rare, it's a true quality rare Disney pin and a great centerpiece for a collection as well as a conversation starter.
