Eckles Embalming Fluid Antique Bottle Owens-Illinois Diamond with "I".
Eckles began making mortuary products in 1895.
The Illinois Glass logo with the diamond with the I in it. Illinois Glass began in 1910 so this logo could have been used then however the actual patent was registered in
March 1, 1927 (TM #224,561)
they claimed that they had been using this logo since 1915. This makers mark stopped being used in 1929. You woll see the makers mark in the photoa.
From we can deduce that the bottle is likely 100 years old.
It is rare people take the time to determine e these things presently however I dig my own bottles and take pride in the ones i keep for my collection and do the research.
This bottle will look better than other comparables that you may have seen elsewhere. It has not been tumbled as my personal opinion is tumbled glass looks too perfect that it doesn't represent how the piece looked when it was made.
