Gransfors Bruk - Ray Mears Wilderness Axe

One Great Axe!
An exclusive collaboration axe between Gransfors Bruk and Ray Mears.
A tradionally hammer press-forged head, in limited quantities by experienced black smiths at Gransfors Bruks, the head bears the initials of the blacksmith/maker.   Handle is American Hickory with great grain orientation!  Mask/Sheath and a copy of 'The Axe Book' are included.
Overall handle length of 23.6".
Overall weight of 3.2 pounds.
I have had the axe out for a short time this fall and really enjoyed it!
(If you're curious why there doesn't appear to be a standard hole in the handle by the palm swell.  It's because I plugged with a piece of pine, and applied a little wood glue on each side.  The hole did bother me a little bit.  It could easily be restored to normal by knocking it out and cleaning up the edge of the hole.  Or make to disappear entirely, with a little more time and material.
