Gorgeous naturalistic pottery bowl by an American ceramics artist, Flora Eckert Hammat of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The bottom is signed Hammat Original 317-2. Original is the word. This artist produced this remarkable bioform pottery between 1945 and 1961. Flora’s work was prized by floral designers and garden clubs— it lends itself so well to flower display. Imagine a cluster of camellias floating on water in this bowl. I love this shape: is it a leaf? is it an oyster? Either way the blue-green glaze is delicious and it’s in perfect condition—no chips or cracks. This piece will be packed with great care. Measurements: 16" x 16" x 3 3/4" at highest point.
