The bowl adze is one of the basic wood carving tools. it is used for bowl carving and similar carving tasks.
It is hand forged from carbon steel, hardened and tempered into a tool that will last you a lifetime or more.
- Forged from carbon steel
- the handle is from straight grained ash wood
- handle is oiled with linseed oil and secured in place with a hardwood wedge
- head weight cca 650 grams (1 1/2lbs)
- blade length across the curve 6 cm (2 1/2 in), depth of the curve on the inside 15 mm (0.6 in)
- handle length (including the head) 24 cm
- this one also includes a custom handmade leather sheath
All the measurements may vary a bit as everything is done by hand and very few measuring tools are used in the process.
