Description
Presented is a beautiful sterling silver vase with glass insert by Tiffany &Co. This piece dates to 1902-1907, and is done very much in the Art Nouveau
style of that time. The vase has attractive pierced designs on its sides, but
can still be used to hold a bouquet of flowers with water because of the glass
liner. The mouth of the vase as well as the base have lovely applied decorations
in the shape of flowers, ribbons and swirls, done in high relief. The vase is
monogrammed with 'EHP' in flowing script. This is a large, impressive piece,
sure to stand out wherever it's displayed in your home.
The underside of the piece is hallmarked with the Tiffany & Co. maker's
mark, sterling 925-1000 and the initial 'C' for the company director between
1902-1907, Charles T. Cook.
The silver vase and its glass liner are both in excellent condition. The
glass liner has no chips, no cracks, no discolorations, and no repairs. The
silver has no dents, no splits, no monogram removals, and no repairs. Any black you see in the photos is merely reflections that are hard to avoid when photographing shiny silver, and do not represent damages or problems of any sort.
The vase stands about 13 1/2 inches tall and has a diameter of about 12 1/2
inches.
The silver vase, without the glass liner, weighs 1643.4 grams or 58 regular
ounces. The total weight, including the glass liner, is 2088 grams.
