The product you are looking at is the Axe blade call "Masakari" for professional carpenter. It is an axe used by carpenters
when processing pillars and
beams of the skeleton of Japanese architecture houses from logs to square lumber.
Nowadays, carpenters rarely use this axe due to the progress of machines, but it is still used for rubbing so that there is no
discrepancy between the existing place and
the restored place during the restoration work of cultural property shrines and
temples. as a design when building traditional
Japanese architecture. It can be used for other purposes, but can also be used
to show the beams of a house as part of the
design (little roughness surface). It can also be used for chopping firewood with a
small diameter ( 7.9 in , 20 cm ) or less in diameter.
