LARGE USED VINTAGE L.N. FOWLER PHRENOLOGY HEAD

Description

This one is a bit larger than the phrenology heads I've seen in stores of unique items.
14 inches tall and base is 6x5 inches. It
has a few cracks on the inside and two at the base. Personally, I think it adds character. It also has crazing. I am unsure if this was created through the manufacturing process of the head or if it’s natural after some years. I had bought it used 2 years ago with the cracks and craze. It's just great looking piece.
Crazing
is a glaze defect of glazed
pottery
. Characterized as a spider web pattern of cracks penetrating the glaze, it is caused by tensile stresses greater than the glaze is able to withstand. It certainly adds to its unique appearance.
Ive seen the new 10 inch ones go from -5. It's an interesting conversation piece for your living room, office or wherever. I had it on my writing desk. It's truly an interesting piece of art. 10% goes to charity.
