MARBLE'S DOUBLE-BIT AXE NO. 15 - WOOD HANDLE
Marble's Double-Bit Axe No. 15 - Wood Handle.  This axe likely has its roots in 1906.  This particular axe was made pre 1945.  The original hickory handle measures 27 inches.  The axe head measures 7 9/16 inches by 3 3/4 inches. The original weight of the axe was 2 1/2 pounds.  The logo on the axe is stamped MARBLE'S over GLADSTONE, MICH. U.S.A.  over  CAMP AXE #15.  The cutting edges were hardened after the axe was forged.  If held in the proper light the hardened lines are visible.  This axe was cleaned up and sharpened by Robert J. Young master knife and axe maker for Marble Arms for 25 years and it is near mint condition.  Bob died April 10, 2016 making this an extremely collectable axe.
