    Description

    Vintage Marble's No. 5 Axe, measuring 11" overall with a axe head measuring 4.25" across.  Steel looks good and is silver in color, some photos have a off brown bronze look, that is the light.  The wood shows some cracks and wood loss by the neck area, also has two nails on the back handle area, not sure if had these or not.  The guard for blade protection is broken off, still moves back and forth though, has a very early patent on the steel arms, "MARBLE ARMS MFG CO. GLADSTONE MICH. U.S.A. PATS 1898".  Axe Head is marked, "MARBLE'S GLADSTONE MICH U.S.A.
    NO. 5". The head is tight and does not wiggle on the handle. Blade edge shows three small
    nicks/chips on blade edge,  See photos for further details, clarification, and condition.
