NICE! Vintage COLLINS HOMESTEAD Single Bit Boys Axe Head, Camp Axe, 2 lb 2.4 oz.
Even though this old axe head doesn't have the word COLLINS stamped into it, I can say with almost 99.0% certainty that this axe head is a COLLINS because of what's left of the decal on the axe head. It doesn't look like this axe head was ever used much at all. The cutting edge still retains the original factory edge (its never been sharpened). And the poll end is still nice a "SQUARE" with no hammer marks or mushrooming at all. It does look like the axe head was left outside in the weather for a period of time, because there's some light pitting on both sides of the axe head (see pics). No breaks or cracks in the axe head at all. The axe head is 6-3/8" long, with a cutting edge of 3-3/4" wide. And it weighs in at 2 pounds 2.4 oz. The eye of the axe head is 2" long x 5/8" wide.
