NICE! Vintage/Antique Single Bit Axe Head Unbranded/No Makers Mark Unique Shape
This vintage axe head has a very unique shape (see pics). The cutting edge has some minor chips and nicks on it (see pics). The poll end has some hammer marks on it, along with some slight mushrooming (see pics). The axe head does have some scratches, scrapes, dings and pitting on it, like you would usually find on a vintage used wood working tool, such as this old axe head. No breaks or cracks in the steel. There's also some "hammer" marks on the top and bottom parts of the axe head (see pics). It's hard to see but there's a 3-1/2 stamped into the bottom part of the poll end (see pic #7). The axe head is 7-5/8" long, with a cutting edge that's 4-5/8" wide. Total actual weight is 3 pounds 11.6 oz. The axe eye is 2-3/8" long x 3/4" wide.
