A very unusual shaped Norland mini-hatchet in excellent condition and nicely sharpened. The poll is very thin for a hatchet, and the eye is long and narrow and in excellent shape. A very nice specimen with minimal hammer marks, vice marks, or rust pitting.

Edit: It has been suggested by a potential buyer that this is a Norland double-bit axe with one blade cut off, and is therefore a modified item.
I don't know if that's accurate or not
, but if one blade
was
cut off it was done by someone who knew what they were doing, as the poll looks factory to me. I do not know the pedigree of this head other than it is stamped "Norlund"...what you see is what is for sale.
