  • Condition: The hatchet is in good condition with one exception. There is a minor amount of damage to the wood handle near the between the head and attachment of the guard (see last photo).

    Description

    Up for bids is a Marbles Arms & Mfg. Co. hatchet (axe) that has a 1898 patent date on the metal guard. The head has a 2 15/16 inch cutting edge and a total length of 4 1/2 inches. The total weight is 15 ounces including the 10 3/4 inch long handle . The metal guard mechanism is working properly...the guard stays in the handle and there is a crisp snap when the guard is moved over the cutting edge. The one issue is that there is some damage to the handle just below the metal head and above the metal of the guard (see last photo). Please see photographs to determine exactly what you will receive.
