  • Condition: Fair-Good overall vint cond: For sale is this recently disc'd in southern NH, rare 12" Marvels Cigarettes vint American litho'd enamel tin advertising wall thermometer, featuring Art Deco typography, in ultramarine blue, tangerine peel orange, canary yellow & champagne enamel colors. It's pressed tin body has rounded, curved edges. A pre-drilled wall mounting hole for a wall fastener is at the top. The graphic iconography, as well as the period typography, has an Art Deco conceptual attitude. A cigarette pack w/cigarettes appearing from the top of the pack is diagonally placed upon the pictorial field, giving the graphics diagonal motion, for which was designed to catch the viewer's or passersby's eyes. At 12" in height, it's not a lg wall thermometer & although it has some cond issues, such as some unfortunate minor-mod surface oxidation, which slightly interrupts the litho'd enamel surfaces adjacent to the glass thermometer, it makes up for by its rarity. A great vint tobacco ad pc.
