Description
Offered is a rare tile by the Pacific Clay Products Company as a souvenir of the 1932 Los Angeles Olympic Games. The tile measures 7” in diameter and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or any other defect. It is marked with the impressed “PACIFIC” mark on the reverse and there is a wire for hanging which I imagine is original.According to Wikipedia, the company was founded in 1892 and was considered one of the "Big Five" Southern California potteries in the production of ceramic tableware, kitchenware, and art wares from 1930 to 1942. The "Big Five" Southern California potteries were Metlox, Vernon Kilns, Gladding, McBean & Co., J.A. Bauer Pottery, and Pacific Clay Products.
This tile does not come on the market often and is a lovely example.
