    Description

GERMANY Reichstag fire burning Berlin print Wide World Photos antique print 1933 news file photo
This is an original antique photo, not a modern reproduction.
My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able.
My Mom bought this in London. It is a print of the Reichstag burning. The building burned so quickly that not many photos were made at the time.
This print has a stamp from Wide World Photos, Fleet Street, London, indicating their ownership of it. There is also text affixed to it saying that this is the only photo obtained of the actual burning of the Reichstag. I believe I have seen other view of the building burning, so perhaps this was the only one that particular newspaper or news agency obtained. The text also speaks in the future tense of the upcoming 1933 trial of the accused arsonists.
    Print measures 8 x 10 inches.
