FREE SHIPPINGThis intriguing example of Sebring's scarce art pottery Leigh Artware line, created about 1930, measures about 5-3/8" tall x 8-3/8" long. Designed by the art director Gale Turnbull and made about 1930. (A few years later, he had moved to California to begin work as the art director for Vernon Kilns.)
This dark mottled green glaze was called Bronze by the factory. The streamlined geometric form was the latest idea at the time.
Note that there is a small, tight C-shaped line on the lip of the central bud vase. Otherwise,
no nicks, chips, hairlines, or repairs. Not noticeable when on display.
If you have never heard of this concern, join the crowd. Fortunately, there is an article about them in a recent back issue (Fall 2016) of the JOURNAL of the American Art Pottery Association (by yours truly). This shape appears in factory advertising reproduced in the article.
