Here is a beautiful Shearwater Pottery covered jar with a raised, slip decorated, all overdesign
of
sunflowers and leaves in shades of green and yellow glaze over the buff reddish clay. Thrown by Jim Anderson and decorated by Patricia Findeisen in 1992, it was created at the family art colony in Ocean Springs Mississippi. It measures about 6 3/4 inches in to the top of the finial and
5 5/8 inches in
diameter. It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws. Marked on the bottom with the die-stamped Shearwater cypher, a con-joined JA for the potter, DP in slip for the artist, and a faint die-stamped 92. An exceptional piece from the famous Southern Arts & Crafts Art Pottery.
