Description
A really nice sterling silver footed vase that is, as best as I can tell, is the product of one of the Indian silversmiths during the period of the British Raj. The workmanship is very good but, definitely shows a lot of hand work typical of a small shop. It is 7-1/8" tall, 3-3/8" across the top, 3-1/4" across the base and weighs just under 9 ozt. It is marked on the base with "KDH" in a box, a bird figure in a box and "SIL" in a box. This is a fairly typical marking for Indian silver but, I have had no luck determining what maker "KDH" signifies. It is also marked "SILVER 925" in script that may be later, perhaps after the silver had been tested. The condition is very nice with no damage and light age and wear. There are just a couple of minuscule marks and dings but, nothing noticeable. You may return this within 30 days of receipt if you are not satisfied for any reason. Good luck.
