For sale is a antique axe head, weighing 2lbs.7.2 ounces. Signed in part, "Very Best", it measures 6-3/16" long, with a 4-5/8" wide edge, a 1-1/16" X 3-3-1/8" poll, or end, and a 13/16" X 2-3/16" eye. There is pitting everywhere, a crack, as shown in the 4th picture, metal loss at the eye, as shown in the 10th picture, and a slight chip on the edge, as shown in the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th pictures. Found with a metal detector, buried in the earth in the hills of Northwest Connecticut, it has a wonderful rusty, crusty and rugged patina, and will be a great display piece, or the best paperweight ever!
