    Description

    This old
    BEHR-MANNING CO. SHARPENING STONE
    measures 6" x 2" x 3/4" and includes its original box.  One side of the vintage Stone is stamped into the stone the following:
    "UPB-6   MARCA REGISTRADA    NORTON   QUICKCUT SHARPENING STONE   MADE in the U.S of A."
    One end of the cardboard box it came in reads:
    "UPB-6    ONE QUICKCUT STONE  6 x 2 x 3/4"
    .   One side of the Stone is Course, the other side is Fine...they were vitrified into one solid Stone.  Box indicates optimal results if the Stone is lightly oiled before sharpening.  Made in Troy, New York.  This Stone dates between  1931 (when Behr-Manning was acquired by NORTON) and the 1950's (when NORTON dropped the Behr-Manning name.)
