This is a pretty metal pin badge from the May day celebrations in former Czechoslovakia. Featuring a red field with golden flowers and the date May 1st.
The badge face is 1.3cm in diameter and has a long stick pin style fastener.
May day parades are still held to this day in The Czech Republic, they have always been based around the welcoming of springtime after the long, cold winter. Typically youth groups and fraternal organisations would parade down the streets along a specified route. Trade unions and the military would also march the route bearing banners and flags and to this day it is quite a spectacle.
