Vintage Embossed Custom PLUMB Autograf Axe on Purple Heart
This auction is for an authentic, vintage PLUMB “Autograf” embossed axe, customized and restored by Stunner Blades Customs, San Francisco, California.
This axe head was thoroughly cleaned upon receiving. The head bares beautiful, deep and legible embossing with gold lettering, as shown in photos. The internal eye was coated with boiled linseed oil prior to hafting.
The haft used for this restoration was hand carved from a single piece of Purple Heart. The haft was hand sanded perfectly smooth and fit perfectly to the axe head. A solid, Black Walnut wedge was chosen for it’s contrast to the deep purple hue of the haft. The wedge was driven in securely to the kerf using boiled linseed oil and Titebond Ultimate.
The entire haft and axe head was coated and polished with genuine Odie’s Oil.
Total length from top of eye to bottom of haft is 31”. Length from mid bit to poll is 6 5/8” with a 4 1/4” blade. Total weight is approximately 4 lbs 7.4 oz.
This vintage axe is an absolute stunner and would be perfectly at home in a top notch collection display.
