    Description

    From a local Indiana Estate is this vintage hewing hatchet.
    I have installed a new (new old stock) Hickory handle.
    The overall length of the tool is about 18 1/2 inches as measured along the hardwood handle.
    The tool weighs about 2 pounds and 10 ounces.
    The cutting edge is about 4 1/2 inches in length.
    I wire brushed off some surface rust and then applied a coat of Carnauba Wax.
    The cutting edge is fairly sharp but you may want to enhance to your own specifications.
