NICE! Vintage -BELL SYSTEM- Axe Head, Made By TRUE TEMPER KELLY WORKS Flint Edge Style
Even though it doesn't say it on the axe head, this is a 100% TRUE TEMPER KELLY WORKS made axe head. If you look inside of the axe eye, you will see "6" ribs, that indicates this was manufactured by TRUE TEMPER (see pics #10 & 11). This axe head is very well made and in very nice condition. The cutting edge does have some minor chips and nicks on it (see pic #8). The poll end has some "HAMMER" marks on it, along with some mushrooming. There's NO rust pitting at all on this axe head, but it does have some scratches and ding marks on both sides of the axe head (see all pics). Also there's some hammer marks on the underside of the axe head (see pic #11). No breaks or cracks in the steel at all (see all pics). The axe head weighs in at 3 pounds 13 oz. The axe head is 7-1/2" long, with a cutting edge of 4-3/4" wide.
