Description
You are bidding on a VERY RARE example of a 1st Model 1940's WW2 German Luftwaffe Junghans Clock, Fl. 23885! This type was used in other aircraft such as the Me109, Fw190, Me110, Me262, and many others!Mounted on the main instrument panel, this clock needs no introduction.
It was made famous throughout the war as the standard German Aircraft Cockpit Clock.
It was usually mounted on the front or side cockpit consoles and features a chronometer, adjustable bezel, and a 15-minute timer.
Made of aluminum with a brass bezel, this 1st model Junghans clock is in EXCELLENT used condition. It retains 90% of it's original surface paint (early cockpit colour), and features the press on back.
Some light marks and scratches throughout from age, but nothing that take away from the overall appearance.
The dial still glows at night (must be charged with UV light), and "Junghans" is prominent. Sadly, the main spring is broken (easy to replace), so it is not currently functional. Balance staff is perfect, however. Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection, panel re-build, or restoration project!

------------------- ABOUT ME -----------------
Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
