Description

You are bidding on a SUPERB used example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Jumo 205/207 Wood Propeller Blade, as used on various seaplanes and bombers!  Used on the Ju86, Do18, Bv222, Bv138, Do26, and others!
The Junkers Jumo 205 aircraft engine was the most famous of a series of aircraft diesel engines that were the first, and for more than half a century, the only successful aviation diesel powerplants. The Jumo 204 first entered service in 1932. Later engines of this type comprised the experimental Jumo 206 and Jumo 208, with the Jumo 207 produced in some quantity for the Junkers Ju86P and -R high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft, and the 46-meter wingspan, six-engined Blohm & Voss BV 222 Wiking flying boat.  All three of these variants differed in stroke and bore and supercharging arrangements. In all, more than 900 of these engines were produced, in the 1930s and through most of World War II.
Made of wood, this is an AMAZING piece of history, and originates from a wrecked aircraft after the war.  There is damage as you can see in the photos, but it is still VERY solid!  The micarta/fiberglass covering in complete on the front, however, has melted on the reverse showing a lot of burn marks (indicates there was an engine fire).  The triangular manufacture plate was removed at one time, leaving a bit of a shadow where it was once located.  Also retains much of it's original paint!  The threaded base is still fully intact with the serial number.  Though I have not cleaned it, the blade is clearly marked with the part number:
9-41221.13
Prop types and styles varied from aircraft to aircraft, and the above number was SPECIFIC to the Jumo 205/207 prop blades.  Though VERY similar to the Junkers Ju87 wood prop, this is about a foot shorter, with an approx. length of 52". Due to the size and weight, shipping in the us will range 0.00 or so.  Though aluminum propeller blades come up quite a bit, the wood types are VERY RARE, as they rarely survived.  Would make an EXCELLENT addition to any collection, restoration project, or simply for display!

------------------- ABOUT ME -----------------
Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
