    Description

You are bidding on a SUPERB relic example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Sturzflugbremsklappen (Dive Brake), as recovered from the wreck of a Junkers Ju88 Bomber aircraft!  This SPECIFIC item came from a wrecksite of a Ju88 A-4 on the Eastern Front, that served wtih KG30.  I will provide the loss information to the winning bidder!
The Junkers Ju 88 was a German World War II Luftwaffe twin-engined multirole combat aircraft. Junkers Flugzeug- und Motorenwerke (JFM) designed the plane in the mid-1930s as a so-called Schnellbomber (fast bomber) that would be too fast for fighters of its era to intercept. It suffered from a number of technical problems during its development and early operational periods but became one of the most versatile combat aircraft of the war. Like a number of other Luftwaffe bombers, it served as a bomber, dive bomber, night fighter, torpedo bomber, reconnaissance aircraft, heavy fighter and at the end of the war, as a flying bomb.
This brake was located at the bottom of each wing, to enable the pilot to slow the aircraft in a dive.
It was used on all all dive bomber variants of the Ju88 aircraft.
Made of both cast and stamped aluminum, and steel, this dive brake section is an EXCELLENT relic example!
Though it has some slight dirt, dents, and damage, it still retains traces of it's original camouflage paint!
Still retains the original steel hinge mechanism and cover!  E
ASILY identifiable, the last photos depict the exact wrecksite from which this was recovered, as well as the location on the wing.
    Measuring a LARGE 12" x 40", i
t is a VERY RARE item, and would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!

Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
