Description
You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of a WW2 German Kriegsmarine Navy Clock, famously used in the Radio Room of various U-Boats!Usually mounted in the radio room of the German U-Boat, this clock needs no introduction.
It was made famous throughout the war as the standard German Kriegsmarine Uboat Radio Room Clock.
Made of brass, aluminum, bakelite, and steel, this Junghans U-Boat clock is GOOD used condition!
T
hough there are some slight marks to the face, and some wear, it is in EXCELLENT condition. Sadly, though the main springs and balance staff are 100% INTACT, it is currently not functioning. I did manage to get it running for about 2 minutes, but it the movement sticks a bit and evntually slows to a stop. Most likely just needs a good cleaning.
Sadly, someone has covered up the original KM Adler that is on the dial with black paint. These dial occasionally show up on ebay, if someone wished to replace it.
Some slight loss to the paint on the hands and dial.
This is an 8-day clock and features the J30E movement.
The case itself is 96mm in diameter, however it appears to have a custom-machined rear casing. I have shown its location on U-995 in the last photo.
Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!!

------------------- ABOUT ME -----------------
Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
