    DESCRIPTION:
RARE original WWII German Death card for a soldier in the "German Wehrmacht", who was KIA in March 1945, just 6 weeks before the end of the war in East Prussia.
Specifically, "Mr. Matthaus Winterholler, stabsgefreiter "IN THE GERMAN WEHRMACHT, who was killed in action on March 13, 1945, aged 32, in Lank, near Heiligenbeil, in East Prussia.." Nice image of him in uniform and peaked hat.
This card puts a name and face and story to a soldier who would otherwise just be a forgotten statistic.
Card is in very good condition overall.
